This might be the nesting talking, but I have a ton of projects I want to work on. Not surprisingly, many of them are baby related.
- Mat made from plarn (plastic bags cut into strips to make yarn)
- Star Blanket
- Granny Square Blanket (something like this for daughter’s bed. Though I have all kind of granny squares pinned here.)
- DIY Cloth Diapers
- Hooded Car Seat Blanket (Or anything else I have pinned on my Baby Board)
I’m hoping to have the plastic bag mat and the star blanket completed soon. I should probably work on learning to make some cloth diapers (I’m a fan of the AI2) and inserts. I’ll update with new posts on those once they are finished.
In other news, I have started an Old Lady Crafty Day. No, the name doesn’t reflect the age of the group. It’s more a tongue in cheek mocking of knitting, crocheting, and tatting. It’s a small group that meets at my house once a month. We have some experienced crafters and some new crafters. It’s fun to teach new things (and learn some new things in the process). Last month we made Spiral Scrubbies (with link to youtube video). I love this pattern for newbie crocheters. It teaches increases, decreases, counting stitches, and single crochet (US). It was actually my first project when I started learning.
Sorry the blog has been lacking posts recently. We went on a couple vacations where I had no internet access. Maybe I will write about those, too. It seems I have a lot planned for my immediate future! I’d better get going!
What crafty projects are you working on? What new skills are you learning? I’d love to hear about them!
