Scrap Vinyl Organizer

January 23rd, 2010 2 Comments

Using Vegbee’s tutorial for a vinyl organizer, I made this for my daughter’s room.

I decided on 4 rows of pockets instead of 3. They work better for what will be stored in them. I forgot the interfacing on the back, but I think it will be ok anyway.

Wait! What happened to the cute ribbon hanger? Well, because I didn’t interface the back fabric the whole thing wanted to curl on itself. I ended up taking out the ribbon and just using a nail through each eyelet.
Here it is all loaded up. My daughter was excited to help and just started shoving things in there. I will need to make a 2nd one, so I will re-fill them both after I get around to doing that.

The vinyl was re-purposed from the packaging my son’s bedding came in. The back fabric was bedsheets my mom gave me from a project she did. Yay for free projects!
I also picked up an eyelet setter tool (the kind that looks like giant pliers). I LOVE them!

>That's awesome! Mine always has a giant (in relative terms) stuffie hanging out the top too. Why toddlers aren't allowed to pack the bag when we travel 😀

>Haha! That bear does look huge in comparison. It's actually only about 3" tall.
